I just finished sending my dad an electronic birthday gift. He lives in another state, so unfortunately, I’m not there to celebrate with him. However, I did find that giving him an electronic gift was still personable and fun. You just need to make sure you take the time to give the same thought into the selection as you would buying something in the store. I’ll also mention that it’s a good idea to give the person a phone call and not just send an email. I gave my dad a call and was able to tell him to check his inbox today. He even called back at the end of the day to say thanks for the gift!
So, what did I buy him? He has a Kindle Fire and enjoys reading books on it, so I thought a perfect gift would be to send him an Amazon gift card [Affiliate Link] and recommend a new magazine to read. As you probably know, Kindle gift cards are really easy to purchase through the online Amazon store. I simply selected the electronic gift card option and was able to add a recommended product to my order and pay for it. I searched and selected the National Geographic magazine in the Kindle store and also added an additional gift amount so he could either subscribe to future orders, or even consider buying a book or product.
With father’s day around the corner, I know a lot of dads would appreciate a new book or magazine for their Kindle. The Kindle store provides a lot of selections to choose from and you can now get most of the popular magazines. The nice thing about purchasing an electronic gift is that it’s delivered instantly, or you can even schedule a future delivery to make sure you don’t forget the special occasion. I suppose we really don’t have anymore excuses for not giving gifts on-time, unless we forget the special occasion all together.
Do you think electronic gifts can still be personable and fun?
