Dollars and Doctrine Book Giveaway and Friday Finance Roundup

You might recall the Dollars and Doctrine special offer I posted about a few weeks ago (if not, you can read it by clicking here).  Along with the special offer by Rob Kuban (author), I had another cool thing going where someone could win a free copy in this month’s giveaway.  Here’s an excerpt from the post:

Now, Rob has informed me he will give me a free copy if 3 people mention One Money Design when purchasing a book.  So, here’s what I’m going to do since I just purchased one.  If 3 of you purchase the book and I qualify to receive a free copy, I’ll give a copy away in the next OMD monthly giveaway.  So, by purchasing you can add a good book to your library, but also help someone learn Biblical financial truths!

Well…at least three people purchased a copy of the book and mentioned One Money Design!  I received the free copy of Dollars and Doctrine in the mail this week and now it’s time to give it away to someone who wants to learn more about the Bible and money.

Dollars and DoctrineHere’s a brief description of the book from Amazon.

Dollars and Doctrine is a complete, articulate, and challenging analysis of what the Bible teaches regarding all things financial. It is organized as a handbook for truth-seeking Christians to discover the Lord’s message for their wallet. This work touches on giving, saving, debt, investing, poverty, prosperity, work, motivation, retirement, and much more! Finally, a book that offers “one stop shopping” for a Biblical approach to personal finance.

How do you win a copy of Dollars and Doctrine

All you have to do to enter the drawing is leave a comment on this post by 12 PM ET May 6th with an answer to the following question (no right or wrong answer):  What is the most valuable personal finance lesson you’ve learned so far?

I’ll announce the winner here on this post as well as on Twitter May 7th.  I’m looking forward to your responses.  Good luck!

Congratulations to CJ who was randomly picked as the winner of the Dollars and Doctrine giveaway!  The giveaway contest is now closed.

The most important lesson that I learned is that the bible is the ultimate authority in all financial matters – and that it is VERY practical when addressing them!

What is the most valuable personal finance lesson you’ve learned so far?

Do it yourself! The only way to be a good Shepard of God’s resources is for you to be the Shepard. I had a paid “financial advisor” and learned this lesson the hard way!!
