My goal for 2010 was to begin using mvelopes to help us manage living on a budget. Just haven't been able to purchase it yet.

God Bless you Jason, keep up the great work.

I am currently a graduate student. My financial goal is to stick to a strict budget so I can finish school without acquiring any more debt - credit cards or student loans. Then, I can be in the position to start saving when I get a job, and not be paying loan interest!

My 2010 goal is to get rid of my cc debt and aggressively save to catch up my retirement. I am very close to paying everything off but it just seems so far away. I use a budgeting software, but I am really having a hard time with it lately. I think I could use something new. Thanks

My biggest goal is to find a budget system that works for us and stick to it. We've tried a few different ways, and just can't find one that works for us.

2009 was a year of change as I was laid off from my job of 21 years. Fortunately, about 3 months prior to the layoff we had paid off the last of our debts not counting the house. We had also made good progress toward building our emergency fund. We simply continued to live in the frugal way we had been living while paying off debts. Two weeks ago I started a new job with a new company with very similar compensation to what I had before. Thanks to being debt free we were able to survive the 8 months with barely touching my severance package from my previous employer.
One of our plans prior to getting laid off was to start a giving fund that we would populate out of each pay same as our food or entertainment envelopes for example. This giving envelope will be used for anything that comes up where we hear or see a need. Now that I am back to a stable job situation, one of our first goals will be to begin populating that giving fund.
