Personal Finance Friday Roundup: Asides and How to Connect with One Money Design

email

Welcome to this week’s personal finance roundup! In this roundup I mention a new way of providing financial information to you and some tips for connecting and receiving content here at OMD.  And obviously, I’ve mentioned some great personal finance articles around the internet for you to read.

Well you might have picked up on a few short posts this week.  I’ve enjoyed writing a few Asides which are short practical financial tips, Biblical financial principles and other thoughts.  I’ve recently started generating a few more of these a week and have opened up them up to be included in the regular feed.  Therefore, you’ll see them announced on Twitter, available via your favorite feed reader, such as Google reader, or in the emails.  If you’d like to check out my recent Asides posts you can click here.  I hope you like them.

Connect One Money Design

Connection options

Moving right along…there are many ways to get connected through social media or find information on the internet these days.  I don’t think I’ve explicitly posted about the avenues in which content is published and shared here at OMD, so I thought I would highlight the options available to you.
You know, the most important thing is for readers to find the information they need and connect with others of like-minded interest.  And in connecting through social media we can all learn from each other.  So, I hope you’ll take a few seconds before reading the personal finance roundup to become a fan, follow, and subscribe!

FacebookOMD currently has 69 fans on Facebook which is a great place to get the Twitter feed, see YouTube video posts and of course get all the posts.

Follow me on Google Buzz

If you haven’t heard of Google Buzz yet, you’re probably going to see people use it more and more.  Buzz is similar to Twitter (you’ll actually get my tweets) in that I use it to share personal finance content.

So, check out my Google profile Google Profile(which is sort of like home base for my social media) and follow me on Google Buzz.  Note: you’ll have to have a Gmail account to follow.  Go to Buzz within Gmail and select find people.  Then, search on my profile to follow.

And now, on with the roundup…

Personal finance links

Hobby Lobby provides craft supplies and messages about Jesus Christ.  This is a controversial post.  Read the article and let me know what you think.  As far as I’m concerned, Hobby Lobby should keep doing what they’re doing!

Should You Convert Non-Deductible IRA Contributions To A Roth IRA?  Jason Topp answers this question in a very informative post over at Bible Money Matters.

Kick Off Debt shares a great tip (LucyPhone) to avoid being put on hold while waiting to talk to someone in customer service.  I had never heard of LucyPhone, but I can’t wait to try this cool new service to save time and avoid frustration!!!

Ever been to IKEA?  If not, you can better believe you’re going to need an IKEA survival guide while shopping there.

Well, it’s that time of year when everyone is planning their summer vacations.  The last thing you want to do when you return is pay off a large credit card bill, so start planning a debt free vacation today!

Have you ever needed quick cash for an emergency and considered using a credit card cash advance?  Make sure you read the fine print first.  It’s not a recommended strategy in my opinion.
