Every now and then I’ll write about ways to help you make extra money or passive income ideas. I think people aregenerally always open to the ideas of either increasing their income or reducing expenses. Obviously, both can help in gaining extra momentum along the journey to true financial freedom!

So today, I thought I would write a little bit about blogging as another source of income and tell you about a product I’m helping promote that I think is a great tool for anyone who wants to start a blog, or enhance their current blog. Furthermore, this product does a great job helping you understand how to turn your blog into a money making business!

What is a blog or weblog?

If you don’t know, a blog is most often a website (otherwise known as a weblog) regularly updated with opinions, ideas and content about a particular area of interest for the author and readers. Some blogs are used for entertainment and news. Others are much more free flowing and less focused with random thoughts and ideas. Wikipedia has pretty good definition of a blog if you’re interested in learning more.

Blogs typically provide readers the ability to comment on the content and engage in discussion with the author or other readers. These characteristics make a blog much more valuable than a regular website, which is typically static content and doesn’t allow readers to engage in conversations.

The value of a blog

About a year ago I didn’t really understand the true importance and value a blog provides to both the readers and the authors. For example, One Money Design provides people with content on how to get out debt, Biblical financial principles and helpful money management tips all with the goal of helping people achieve true financial freedom. The great benefit of running a blog for the owners is they can build a web presence, provide content they are passionate about to help others, or eventually turn their blog into a business.

Make Money with a Blog

Are you interested in learning how to start your own blog or enhance an existing blog? Are you interested in making money from a blog? Just in the short amount of time writing here at One Money Design, I’ve had people ask me if I would be willing to share about my experiences in blogging and some tips to get started. Being somewhat new to blogging, I don’t really feel like I have enough experience to provide a lot of value to them at this point, although, I’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time. At this point, I’d much rather share or recommend a great resource from someone more experienced than me.

Blueprint for How to Make Money with a Blog eBook

My friend Pete, over at Bible Money Matters recently announced his new eBook, Blueprint for How to Make Money with a Blog. As you may know, I’m a staff writer at Bible Money Matters and post one article over there each week.

With the intent of continuing to grow and improve One Money Design, I decided to purchase Pete’s eBook and his extensive package of tips and instructions. And I’m really pleased with my purchase!

I’ve already picked up on some new tips from his eBook to further enhance my blog and now I can leverage Pete’s daily, monthly and yearly checklists to see what I should be doing to maintain and grow my blog. Overall, I’m quite impressed with the thorough content from learning how to set up a blog for the first time, coming up with ideas for new content and getting tips from other experienced bloggers.

Blueprint for How to Make Money with a Blog eBook Package

So, what’s included in the package Pete is offering?

How to Make Money with a Blog eBook

How to Make Money with a Blog MP3 file. You can listen to the book instead of reading it.

Starting a blog checklist.

Daily blog tasks checklist.

Advice from successful bloggers eBook (this is a limited time bonus offer).

If you’re interested in starting a blog, enhancing your current blog, or learning how to make money with a blog; go check out Pete’s Blueprint for How to Make Money with a Blog website to learn more!

I don’t recommend a product unless I think it truly can help people. This is a product I fully support because of my trust in Pete and based on the excellent content I received when I purchased the it. Given my support in this product, I’ve decided to offer it through an affiliate partnership. Just to be up-front, I do receive a commission if you purchase the eBook after clicking on the ad or any links in this post.

Personal finance blog community

This week, I’m grateful for some new personal finance blogging relationships. I’ve found the personal finance blogging community to be quite open, welcoming and helpful to readers and fellow bloggers. And isn’t the community of readers and bloggers what blogging is all about? I think so.

For instance, I recently was able to connect with another Christian finance blogger, and financial planner, John Gay. I came across his blog on the Christian PF links page. And how amazed I was to find out John lives in the same city as me. He has his own financial planning company, Frisco Financial Planning and personal finance blog. Brought together by a common interest in personal finance and blogging we were able to meet in person this week. Now that’s community!

One Money Design Announcements

I’ve added a scripture of the week in my sidebar this week under the Bible and Money section. Each Sunday, which I think is an appropriate day, I’ll add a new scripture of the week and write a post about what it says to me. I’m still determining how to add a scripture of the week, or devotional to the blog each week. I’m experimenting with different options such as the Crown Daily Devotional.

In the spirit of my post, Ideas to Keep Your Focus on Biblical Financial Principles, I’m going to take the scripture of the week a step further and write it on a note card it. This will become my financial scripture of focus each week and help me stay closer to God’s word on money. Will you join me?
